A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BELLA VISTA ART CLUB
In 1966, the idea for an Art Club in Bella Vista sprang
from the inspired minds of 22 individuals who came
together monthly to share their ideas and talents, to
socialize, and to commit to creating the inspiring forum
which is the Village Art Club.
Today
the Village Art Club maintains Wishing Spring Gallery and Gallery West, to showcase and
provide an outlet for members who wish to market their
art and crafts to the public. The club also sponsors the very
popular Bella Vista Arts and Crafts Festival.
This is a juried show that is held annually in October,
drawing fine artists and crafters, as well as visitors,
from far and wide!
In
addition to
the Galleries and the Fine Art Festival, The Village Art
Club is committed to furthering the education and
appreciation of the visual arts through it's scholarship program.
Membership
is open to those who love art and wish to support the
Art Club and it's many endeavors.
Club annual dues are $20.00.
Club
leadership consists of a Board of Directors elected by
the membership, as well as an Executive Committee and
various committee chairs, all volunteer
positions. The dedication of these
volunteers, coupled with hundreds of valuable volunteer
hours from other committed club members, help to make
the Village Art Club the place to be for anyone who
enjoys the visual arts, whether they be
painters, sculptors, potters, woodworkers, carvers,
crafters, or simply admirers of fine art!
