Member Jo Bain is sponsoring a three day workshop featuring nationally known artist, M. Douglas Walton. The workshop will be held April 21 - 23 at the Studio at Wishing Spring Gallery. The class will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a break for lunch. Cost of the tree day workshop is 200.00 per participant. The workshop will be in latex and acrylics. Interested students should contact Jo Bain. A materials list will be sent to teach participant upon registration. Jo's email and/or phone number is in the membership book. Douglas Walton was raised in Carmen, Oklahoma. He was a sensitive child, and spent his formative years sheltered from the normal development of human interaction by the barrier of a mysterious inability to communicate through speech. This barrier forced him into an internal world of exploration, where he discovered and nurtured a keen spiritual realm of existence. At the age of 16 he overcame his speech problem and began a unique adventure in life. He became an architect, discovering a special talent to communicate through the teaching of watermedia painting. He has developed a powerful gift to open new worlds for others by teaching a system of creative thought. M. Douglas Walton lives life in an extraordinary way. Walton's philosophy is that there is an artist in us all. "within each of us lies a talent of greatness. Don't be afraid to begin the process of becoming an artist. We must let go of the doubt and truly believe in our ultimate capacity of great achievement. If we embrace discipline there is no limit to our success."
